Balsamic Nights

07/27/2015

In celebration of EXPO 2015 the Giusti Acetaia will celebrate its tradition, a long history of over 400 years, giving rise to

Balsamic Nights

A special project in accordance with one of the most important events in the world, designed and created for a limited number of fortunate visitors to retrace the entire history of the Giusti brand and EXPO, during which the ancestors of the family, beginning in the nineteenth century, presented their pioneering Balsamic Vinegars of Modena, in an all time preview, introducing the Black Gold of Modena to the rest of the world.

In 1889, during the EXPO in which the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated in Paris, Giusti Vinegar was awarded a Gold Medal for the extraordinary quality of its balsamic vinegars.

In 1900, also in Paris, the recognition was the same. Supreme quality for a unique product.

Today, after more than a century from the Belle Epoque and all its glories, the old vinegar from the private collection of the family will be open to the public. The best and rarest selections of centuries old Balsamic Vinegars, which continue still today to mature in the same barrels that were taken to Paris in the 1800s, for the first time will be disclosed to the public and proposed for tasting during four very special events.

During these special visits, a master Giusti family Acetiere will extract directly from these extraordinary, centuries old barrels, Balsamic Vinegars which have aged and been cared for throughout the centuries, including some rare selections of precious value.

The tasting will continue with a journey through a selection of the woods which are used to construct barrels for the maturation of Balsamic Vinegar. Each visitor can taste some drops directly extracted from a series of barrels composed of only one type of wood, learning to recognize the different aromas conferred from chestnut, oak, cherry, juniper and mulberry to Balsamic Vinegar.

The evening will continue in the fragrant gardens of the Giusti Acetaia, with funny workshop for childrens and a buffet inspired by the tradition of the region of Emilia. Gourmets will be delighted with a pleasant culinary experience with food and wines among the flavors of the Modenese tradition, which have made this region well known throughout the world.

A fascinating journey of flavors, aromas, textures and combinations. The best Italian cuisine.
